The 4th Annual Parade of Lights went very well once again.
Besides the cold wind that kicked up at the last minute the roads were dry, but I think the holiday spirit was pretty evident that night.
The Point, ended up winning 1st place and the Fan Favorite for the night. Auburn Bay Playground group won 2nd, and 24/7 Electric won 3rd.
The challenge is on for other streets within the community to create their own float for next year. I would like to take this time to thank all the dedicated volunteers that helped out during the parade. To all the parade entries, you guys did an amazing job once again.
The businesses that sponsored the Hot Chocolate stations were: Tim Horton’s Auburn Station, Calgary Co-op Auburn Station, South Family Dental, The Vanderveen Team, Gospel of Grace Community Church, Soma Spa, Barre Belle, and Tutor Doctor. Denim and Smith donated goody bags.
Once again thank you to the Auburn Bay Resident’s Association for having Auburn House open for people to come in and get warm. Thank you to the City of Calgary for sponsoring the Parade of Lights along with MLA Rick Fraser. I would be remise if I didn’t thank the man of the hour, Santa, for taking time out of his busy night to being there and even bringing his wife to help celebrate the holidays.
